About Emily: |
Originally from New Mexico, Emily Chackerian is a writer, dramaturg, and arts administrator. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where she double majored in English and Theater, and concentrated in creative writing and playwriting. At Wesleyan, Emily studied under Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (Water By the Spoonful, In The Heights), Tori Sampson (If Pretty Hurts), Amy Bloom (In Love), and Rashida Shaw McMahon.
Emily's plays have been workshopped at Wesleyan University, including a senior playwriting thesis, which was performed over Zoom, and received High Honors in English. Emily lives in Brooklyn, NY, and currently works as the Artistic Assistant at Signature Theatre, and as an Editorial Assistant with 3Views on Theater. She also reads scripts for the Playwrights Foundation and the Jewish Plays Project. Want to find out more about Emily?
